How to Find Fringe
Coming from the San Lorenzo Valley
1. Take Mt. Hermon Road into Scotts Valley and turn left onto Scotts Valley Drive.
2. After going straight through two traffic lights, you will see the Valley Oak Veterinary Clinic sign, the turn into our shopping center is coming up.
3. Turn right into the Tree Circus Center. We are in the bottom level, far left suite.
4. Make a quick right in the parking lot to park right out front, or pass the salon and park in the back lot.

Don't want to talk, have a migraine, or deal with social anxiety? Simply shoot me a text (831.247.5800) that says "silent service" before your appointment, we'll do our consultation, ask only the necessary questions, and then you can read a book, listen to music, whatever you'd like!

Whether you air dry or tease it to heaven, we suggest coming to your first visit wearing your hair how you typically like to style it. See your hair dry & styled will help us understand the best techniques and looks that will enhance and fit your lifestyle.

Dress for Success
​
We want you to be able to relax during your appointment, so please dress comfortably! To ensure your clothing remains dry and stain free, we recommend avoiding bulky necklines (hooded sweatshirts & turtlenecks) and be aware that your stylist will not be held responsible for reimbursement or replacement of clothing that is damaged by and salon chemical products.
CLEAN OR
DIRTY HAIR?
That's the question, right? Is dirty hair better for coloring, or should it be clean?

The answer is clean. Please arrive with hair that has been washed within the last 48 hours,

Colors will adhere better and lift better without any oils or dirt to break through first.

Hello, I’m happy you’re here :) I'm Carly, I grew up going to the salon with my mom every weekend while she was working and I am now proudly serving marvelous hair in Scotts Valley.
I've been a stylist for 10+ years and have never been more inspired in my craft and business. I specialize in easy to manage hair; whether it’s a beautiful blonde highlight that will last you six months, blended gray coverage that leaves you without a harsh outgrowth line, or a soft flowing haircut that’s wash and wear.
I want to work with you to achieve your ultimate hair goal. Our hair is an important part of how we portray ourselves to the world, it’s the only component to our personal style that we can’t change daily!
I know what it’s like to not feel listened to by a stylist and I will take the time to make sure your hair is just the way you picture it should be. The most rewarding thing as a hairstylist is when guests stand up from my chair and say “it’s exactly what I wanted”. My goal is to have you leave the salon feeling confident and heard.
I will be honest with you about your hair goals and how they fit into your lifestyle and I will take the time to show you realistic ways to keep your hair looking amazing everyday.
I have always been an old soul, when I'm not in the salon you can find me sewing, knitting or baking a cake for someone in my giant family's birthday!

I want you to love your hair so I may ask you a lot of questions during your consultation- this is a judgement free zone so be honest about your hairs history, your lifestyle, & your hair goals.
Pictures are encouraged so screenshots & Pinterest boards are always welcome!
Pro-tip: showing 1-2 pics of looks you want to avoid is just as important as the looks you want to achieve.

I want you to be comfortable when you are visiting Fringe. We have a rotating selection of snacks, flavored sparkling water, and teas. We're also excited to offer pour over coffee from our favorite local coffee shop, Cruise Coffee. And there might just be some fresh baked cookies for you as well. Don't be shy if you'd like to try! And of course we offer free WIFI!

-Wash your hair as infrequently as possible (1-2x/week is best)

-Use a quality dry shampoo

-Make sure to come in for regular trims (every 3-4 months max) to minimize breakage & promote healthy growth

-For brunettes: Consider a deep condition or gloss to maintain moisture and shine

-For gingers & fashion colors: Ask about out color-lock line to seal your cuticle and balance ph before washing

-For everybody: Come in for a quick tone & treat between services to refresh and extend the life of your color​

-Always use a heat protectant when styling your hair.
